Public address and sporting events have been a key part of our work over the past decade. We’ve designed, supplied, and delivered solutions for a wide range of scenarios, from 9,000-capacity major sporting events to complex mile-long deployments across castle grounds. Along the way, we’ve also supported a surprising number of jousting tournaments and other unique displays.
Although we still occasionally use traditional 100V line systems, we generally prefer full-range solutions from Danley Sound Labs’ distinctive Synergy Horn range. These systems offer much better vocal clarity and intelligibility, while also supporting a broader frequency range that’s ideal for background music.
This approach allows us to reduce the number of loudspeakers and infrastructure needed, resulting in a more environmentally friendly production from setup through to operation. It’s more efficient in terms of logistics, deployment, and energy use.
A great example comes from one of our rental clients, who replaced over 80 traditional 100V line speakers with just two SH96HO units and one SM80. This setup provided clear background music and speech coverage for 9,000 spectators at Queen’s Club.
